~ Review ~
The epic trilogy of J.R.R. Tolkien's classic book The Lord of the Rings is by far the best movie trilogy ever made, even surpassing Star Wars, in my opinion at least. Of course, Star Wars remains a favorite, but the world created in LOTR is so realistic you can almost imagine being a part of it. Also, it is much easier to relate to a medieval world than a futuristic world like the one portrayed in George Lucas' famous epic. There is something very tangible in the rich background of middle earth, the intricate detail and culture of each of the races, the aged statues and ancient ruins, the timeless beauty of the New Zealand landscape, which was the perfect selection for the filming location.

~ Characters ~
There are a TON of characters in this movie, so I will go over my favorite characters and give you the link to the official site so you can check it out for yourself!
Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood) - The unlikely hero: a short, shy hobbit from the Shire.
Samwise Gamgee - Frodo's most loyal and stout friend. Also a hobbit.
Legolas (Orlando Bloom) - Alright, I admit it...I did have a crush on him for about 2 months...but only 'cause of the long hair and pointy ears. I love elves, all the elves are AWESOME.
Elrond Halfelven (Hugo Weaving) - Yeah, he's cool. One of my favorite characters in the book and the movie. An ancient elf-king and a ringbearer. Oh, yeah, and Hugo also plays Agent Smith in the Matrix and The Matrix Reloaded. He's cool.
Gimli (John Rhys-Davies) - Gimli is a dwarf: a stout fighter, and loyal friend. He is in a sort of friendly competition with Legolas, and they are the first elf and dwarf to become friends since the dark days. He is great.

~ Summary ~
Oooooh, no you don't! You aren't getting off that easily! You definitly need to see it, or at the very least read the books. Trust me, you owe it to yourself to see this movie if you haven't already.
